Breeding Policy and Health Contract:

Information About Buying a Camano Island Catahoula puppy:

To purchase a puppy from Camano Island Catahoulas, prospective owners pay a $100.00 USD non-refundable deposit and are added to a waiting list which is comprised of all depositors and is numbered by the date their deposit is received. Depositors choose their puppies in this order. Camano Island Catahoulas (the breeder) reserves the right to have first pick(s) of the litter.

When the puppies reach four (4) weeks of age, you will be provided pictures of them, along with a short description of each pup, and the selection order.

You are asked to choose two or more pups in the order of desirability in case one of them is chosen ahead of you. If a pup is passed on by a depositor, it will then be moved to the next in line until all pups have been chosen.

If you cannot get the puppy you want, or if you don't see a puppy that you like in the current litter, you may roll your deposit to the next litter. This generally results in your moving higher up on the Waiting List for the next litter produced. Any pups that are left from a litter will be made openly available to the public.

If you wish to be placed on our waiting list, you must place your order via U.S. Mail.

Please provide the following:

Note: There is NO guarantee about the coat color of the puppies until they are born. Further more, eye color is not permanent until 6 weeks of age or so. Of course blue-eyed pups usually are sold or chosen first, therefore, if a blue-eyed puppy is your preference, it is mandatory to have your non-refundable puppy deposit in place as soon as possible. Please do not to overlook a potential pup simply because of it's eye color. Some of the best Catahoula Leopard dogs are hazel-eyed.

Picking Up the Pup
:

Puppies may be picked up from our residence when they are 7 to 8 weeks old. Please make an appointment to do so either via phone or email and we will give you directions at that time. You can expect that your puppy will have had three to four wormings and at least one five-way vaccination at the time of pick up. A written record of these wormings and vaccinations will be given to you at time of pick up.

Shipping Your Puppy:

Shipping is available, but puppies may not be shipped until they are a minimum of 8 weeks of age and must be accompanied by a Health Certificate issued by a veterinarian. We try to schedule the puppy's travel in a manner that is most expedient and least stressful to the pup. Additionally, most airlines will not fly pups or dogs in extreme temperatures or around the months of June, July, and August. We ship from the Spokane International Airport, Spokane, Washington. It is up to the buyer to locate an airline and to provide for the cost of the shipping which is IN ADDITION to the cost of purchasing their puppy from Camano Island Catahoulas.

Cancellations
:

Cancellations for any reason will result in loss of your deposit. The deposit can be rolled over to the next litter as described above.
